you just made the best decision of your life.
if you said yes to jesus today, heaven is throwing a party right now. and we are too. we want to know your name, walk this out with you, and help you take your next steps.
this isn't just a moment.
it's the start of forever.
when you said yes to jesus, you didn't just join a religion. you became a son or a daughter of god. that's not pastor talk. that's bible talk.
paul didn't say "you got better." he said you got new. the past doesn't define you anymore. the shame doesn't get the last word. the addictions don't own you.
you have a new identity. a new family. a new future. and the holy spirit himself is now living inside of you, ready to lead you forward.
that's the gospel. that's what just happened.

the journey forward.
one step at a time.
following jesus isn't a checklist. but there are some early moves that will set you up to grow strong, deep, and dependent on him for the long haul. here's where to start.
get baptized.
what it is. baptism is a public declaration of a private decision. you go under the water as the old you. you come up as the new you. it's a picture of what already happened in your heart.
why it matters. jesus did it. he commanded it. and every time someone in the bible got saved, baptism wasn't far behind. it's the first act of obedience for a follower of jesus.
when. we hold baptism services regularly throughout the year. you don't need to have it all figured out first. just show up and go under.
sign up for baptism →start reading the bible.
what it is. the bible isn't a self-help book. it's god's living word, and now that the holy spirit lives in you, scripture is going to start hitting different. you'll hear his voice in it.
where to start. open to the gospel of john. it's near the middle, toward the back. read one chapter a day. don't rush. don't try to "understand" everything. just let it wash over you.
tip. download the youversion bible app on your phone. it's free, it has audio versions, and it has reading plans for new believers. start there.
get the free bible app →start praying.
what it is. prayer is just talking to god. and listening. that's it. you don't need fancy words. you don't need a kneeling bench. you don't need to sound spiritual.
how to start. tell him about your day. thank him for what's good. ask him for what you need. tell him what's hard. then pause and listen. pay attention to what comes to mind. that might be him.
start small. five minutes a day. same time, same place. consistency beats intensity every single time.
get in community.
what it is. you cannot follow jesus alone. it's not how he designed it. you need people who will know you, encourage you, challenge you, and walk with you through the hard parts.
how to start. come to a sunday service. then plug into a community popup (CPU). these are simple, low-pressure gatherings throughout the week where the awaken family connects over coffee, meals, and game nights.
real talk. the people who grow the most in their faith are the ones who refuse to do it alone. don't try to be the exception.
find a cpu →be baptized in the holy spirit.
what it is. when you said yes to jesus, the holy spirit moved in. but jesus said there's also an empowering. a baptism in the holy spirit that fills you with power for life and ministry.
why it matters. in acts 1:8, jesus told his disciples to wait for "the gift my father promised." what came next changed the world. the same power is available to you.
how. this is a personal moment, and we'd love to walk through it with you in person. talk to a pastor on a sunday or send us a message.
talk to a pastor →we want to celebrate with you.
whatever just happened, don't keep it to yourself. tell us. we want to pray for you, send you a small gift, and walk with you into what's next. it's the best part of our job.
